Industrializing sentient landscapes: Indigenous Sustainabilities in Northwestern Russia and Siberia

I worked on this project during my postdoctoral research at the University of Helsinki (2020 – 2023). It focused on Indigenous and local conceptualizations of sustainability in the industrialized regions of the Russian North and Siberia (with the case studies of Veps and Soiot minorities).

Within this project, I received funding from the University of Helsinki to conduct field research in Karelia and Buriatia in June – August 2021.

This project’s outcomes are partially summarized in my article Indigenous connections with the resourcescape in the Russian North and Siberia (open access).
