I am an environmental anthropologist studying how Northern communities live with and after resource infrastructures — from mines and hydropower to wind energy and cloud technologies.
I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Biodiverse Anthropocenes program, University of Oulu (Finland). I am also an affiliated researcher in the project REBOUND: Reconceptualizing Boundaries Together Towards Resilient and Just Arctic Future(s). Before that, I completed a postdoctoral project on Indigenous Sustainabilities at the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS).
My PhD in Environmental Sciences and Policy is from Central European University (2019), after which I spent a year as a Lecturer in Anthropology at the School of Advanced Studies in Siberia.
Passionate about all things Arctic, I currently serve as Secretary of the Social and Human Working Group at the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC).
Outside academia, I am a rather erratic reader and traveler, and a mother of two. Just as I finally immerse myself in writing, it’s already time for daycare pickup!
